Our Staff
Nyquist Elementary goes above and beyond in making sure the students have a great experience and meet standards at the end of the year. Staff are proactive in attending workshops and seminars to improve our teaching. The school provides its Kindergarten classes with title and para support along with the classroom teacher.
Jennifer Honek
Kindergarten Teacher
Jen grew up in Duluth, MN and met her husband Tim in Bemidji while going to college. She and Tim have four children, Noah (18), Gabriel (16), Isabel (13), and Gracie (2) with one on the way!. She loves being in nature, as well as doing science experiments and art projects with her children. She enjoys watching the children learn and looks forward to hearing them ask questions.
Katie Cooper
Kindergarten Teacher
Katie has taught 1st Grade, Kindergarten, Preschool, and Title 1 and enjoys working with students of all age levels.
She is gifted in Art and Reading and brings many talents to the Kindergarten classroom on a regular basis.
Katie engages her students with fun books and songs and creates unique and creative centers that include dramatic play, sensory bins, write the room, and more!
Katie and her husband have four young daughters.
